An estimate only, based on typical water losses in homes like these. Every loss is different, and the restoration company sets a firm price after it sees the damage.

How this estimate works

Drying time depends mostly on the material and how saturated it is. Tile and sealed concrete give up water fastest, drywall and framing take longer, and a bare slab or wood flooring, which IICRC S500 treats as Class 4 materials, dry slowest. Larger areas and humid summer air add time, because the dehumidifiers have to pull moisture out of the outdoor air that leaks in as well.

The estimate assumes air movers and LGR dehumidifiers running continuously with daily readings. The real finish line is a reading, not a date: equipment comes out when wet materials are within 2 to 4 points of a dry reference. See structural drying and slab leak water damage.

Dispatch around the clock

Each wet day adds to the drying time.

Getting air movers and dehumidifiers running early is the biggest factor a household controls.
